Homerton Hospital unveils display of staff photographs in a ‘joyous celebration of living environment’
Homerton Hospital has launched a new display of photos taken by its own staff over the past year.
Despite the strain under which NHS staff have been working in recent times, there is an impressive range of creativity on display in these images, many of which have been taken on daily walks in the hospital environs and further afield.
Particularly resonant for local residents are pictures of the River Lea and Hackney Marshes.
There are also stunning shots of insects and animals, together with a number of joyous photos of children.
Part of an ongoing project that promotes staff wellness through creative interaction, this permanent display is situated on the corridor flanking Medical Records and The Multi Faith Worship Centre.
The plan is to grow the display incrementally over time, with new submissions added periodically.
The hospital’s art curator, Shaun Caton, described the exhibition as “a fantastic initiative to showcase the burgeoning talent, ingenuity and creative vision of Homerton Healthcare’s staff”.
He added: “Not only does the display reveal people’s interests, it is a joyous celebration of our living environment, with a great focus on Hackney’s green spaces.”
