Job Vacancy – Community Transport Driver for HCT Group

HCT Group is a growing business – we have grown from a handful of volunteers and a couple of minibuses, with a turnover of £202k in 1993 – to a large scale social enterprise with 1200 employees, more than a dozen depots spread across London, Yorkshire, the Southwest, the Northwest and the Channel Islands, a fleet of 625 vehicles and a 2016/17 turnover of £49.6m.
We operate commercial mainstream bus routes, day centre and school transport across depots in London, Yorkshire and Wakefield.
Our community transport services include door to door transport for people who have difficulty using mainstream transport, community group transport and mobility scooter loan services for people with disabilities.

We are seeking a friendly, reliable, professional individual to join HCT for this unique and exciting opportunity as a driver, to provide transportation and support to users of the services according to their individual needs and requirements.
As well as being an excellent driver with a sound understanding of the needs of vulnerable individuals you must hold a clean UK Driving Licence with Category D1 entitlement.
This role is based in Hackney, at our East London Depot; however, you will need to have the flexibility to go to our South London office (SE1, South Bermondsey) to support with driver shortages, as and when requested.
Due to working with vulnerable adults and children, you must also be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS; if you have a portal DBS, this will be accepted.
You will possess excellent communication skills, be flexible, honest, have a ‘can do’ attitude and be confident working on your own initiative.
You will be trained and expected to operate on all Community Transport Services.
