Victoria Park to host ‘exciting’ new 10-day festival next summer
Big-name acts have been announced for a new 10-day music and community festival at Victoria Park next summer.
Indie pop trio The xx and Cincinatti rockers The National will headline All Points East, which is taking over from Lovebox and Field Day from 2018.
The bash kicks off on 25 May with three days of music, followed by a midweek line-up of community events involving food, comedy and film, which organisers says will “reflect the vibrancy of the surrounding area”.
The festival then culminates the following weekend with three standalone concerts.

The National, who will take to the stage on 2 June, said in a statement: “After four thrilling sold-out shows at the Eventim Apollo in September, we are excited to take over Victoria Park next summer. We are already thinking about ways to make this more than just a show.”
The Ohio band will be joined by special guests The War On Drugs and Future Islands.
Tickets for The National go on sale from 9am this Friday, while passes for the inaugural three-day festival, headlined by The xx, will be available from 9am on Friday 3 November.

AEG Presents, the team behind All Points East, said more than 200 acts will be unveiled over the coming weeks.
Jim King, Live Music at AEG Present’s executive vice president, added: “We are thrilled to be able to launch this new festival concept and bring some of the world’s most exciting artists to Victoria Park.
“With a new three-day music festival followed by a programme of midweek events offering open access to the local community all culminating in three huge standalone shows, we’re confident that this is the most exciting new event in the country.”
AEG Presents was awarded the five-year contract for Victoria Park by Tower Hamlets Council following an open tender process.
