Kim Briggs death: Man charged following fatal collision involving cyclist in Old Street
A man has been charged following a fatal collision involving a cyclist in Hackney, Scotland Yard said today.
Charlie Alliston, 19, of Trothy Road, Bermondsey, was charged yesterday with causing bodily harm by wilful misconduct contrary to section 35 of the Offences Against The Person Act 1861 following the death of 44-year-old Kim Briggs in Old Street earlier this year.
He appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 14 September and the case has been sent to the Old Bailey, where he will next appear on 12 October.
The collision happened close to the junction with Charlotte Road on 12 February at around 12.30pm, and Briggs died in hospital around a week later.
