Istanbul terrorist attacks: advice surgery for Hackney’s Turkish and Kurdish-speaking residents
Hackney residents who are in any way affected by the terrorist attacks in Istanbul are invited to attend an advice surgery on Wednesday 6 July.
The advice surgery, which runs from 10am until 3pm is for Turkish and Kurdish-speaking communities.
A native speaker will be on hand to help with translation and counselling for this free drop-in service.
Spoken by 11 per cent of people from Hackney, Turkish is the most widely spoken language in the borough after English.
A spokesperson said: “Our duty is to provide a united front against acts of terrorism and to promote mental wellbeing to parts of our society that are increasingly in need of counselling.
“These acts against innocent citizens affects us all. Their reach is beyond borders in what is seemingly a continued campaign of terrorism against people from all cultures.”
The advice surgery is open 10am – 3pm, Wednesday 6 July 2016 at
