Hackney man jailed for stabbing guest at Bethnal Green wake
A Hackney man has been jailed for 10 years for stabbing another man after a Bethnal Green wake.
Khalid Ahmed was found guilty of grievous bodily harm at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 4 May.
The 21 year-old was sentenced on Friday 17 June.
In the early hours of 8 December last year, Ahmed became involved in an argument with a 25-year-old man at a wake in Bonner Road, E2.
The other man decided to leave at around 3:40am but was followed outside by Ahmed who, having taken a knife from the kitchen drawer, stabbed him numerous times.
Police arrived and arrested Ahmed near to the scene of the stabbing. He was subsequently charged.
The other man was taken to hospital and treated for stab injuries before being discharged from hospital later that day.
