Dalston car park death: two charged with murder of Mehmet Degerli
Two men have been charged with the murder of Mehmet Degerli, who was found collapsed in a Dalston car park last week.
Mustafa Alparslan of Remington Road was charged on Saturday 11 June with the murder of the 49-year-old father.
The 20-year-old from Stoke Newington is to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court today, Monday 13 June.
Huseyin Akkoyun, 46, of no fixed abode, appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court on 11 June, also charged with the murder of Mehmet Degerli.
He was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, 14 June.
The investigation was launched after Mr Degerli was found collapsed in a small residents’ car park off Sandringham Road, Dalston at around ten past one in the morning of Wednesday 8 June.
Paramedics tried to save his life, but he was pronounced dead shortly after, according to Scotland Yard.
