A man has been convicted of manslaughter following a fatal shooting on Chatsworth Road last year.

Young father Moses Fadairo, 25, was gunned down in broad daylight in front of terrified shoppers on 26 September 2015.

Christopher Erunse, 28, from Chalcombe Road in Greenwich, was found guilty at the Old Bailey on Thursday 9 June of the manslaughter of his former friend.

He was also convicted of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Erunse was found not guilty of murder, and not guilty of attempted murder.

A second man, Bradley Wynter, 28, of the Pembury Estate, had previously pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm.

On 26 September last year at around 1pm, Erunse and Wynter were in the Chatsworth Road area, where they encountered Moses and two other men.

In the ensuing altercation, Moses stabbed Erunse in the leg.

Erunse then produced a handgun and fired it, with one of the shots hitting Moses in the chest.

Parademics tried to resuscitate him but he died at the scene.

Detective Chief Inspector Andrew Packer said: “This case began with two long-term friends falling out with each other. Whilst it may never be clear what led to this breakdown, the subsequent animosity grew into violence and resulted in a man losing his life.

“It was nothing short of a miracle that members of the public going about their daily business were not killed or badly injured during this incident.”

No further action was taken against four other men who were arrested during the police investigation.

Erunse and Wynter will be sentenced at the Old Bailey on Wednesday 15 June.
