Three men injured by ‘racing’ car in Dalston
A driver believed to be racing another car crashed into three male pedestrians on Sunday morning as he sped through Dalston Junction.
Police and the London Ambulance Service (LAS) were called to the corner of Balls Pond Road with Kingsland Road at 11am on 27 December after reports of a serious car crash.
All three victims were treated at the scene, two of whom were taken to hospital. Police have described their condition as serious but stable.
Eyewitness Khurran Shazad told the BBC the drivers appeared to be racing each other: “Both cars were racing. He [one of the drivers] lost control and came onto the footpath. It was a very terrible scene… injured people and blood.”
Officers have arrested two men, aged 20 and 21, on suspicion of dangerous driving. They are holding the suspects in custody at an East London police station.
