Man shot dead in broad daylight on Chatsworth Road
A man has been shot dead in broad daylight on a street in Clapton.
The 25-year-old was killed next to a butchers on Chatsworth Road just after 1pm today.
He was found suffering from gunshot wounds and died at the scene, police said.
A man in his 20s was found nearby and has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Following the incident, local businesses and residents described their shock. Neighbourhood group Chatsworth Road E5 tweeted:

A police statement said: “Officers arrested a man in his 20s close to the scene on suspicion of murder. He currently remains in custody at an east London police station.
“Formal identification and a post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course. Next of kin have been informed.”
