Thirteen arrested following Dalston shooting
Thirteen people have been arrested following a daylight shooting on Ridley Road in Dalston.
The victim, a man believed to be in his thirties, suffered a gunshot wound in his leg as he walked down the popular market street yesterday (16 August)
Police were called to the scene at 2.10pm, and an armed response unit also attended. A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “A search of the area was conducted resulting in 13 arrests being made for a number of offences.”
The London Ambulance Service took the man to an East London hospital yesterday afternoon. He is said to be in a serious but stable condition. A firearm has since been recovered.
Local residents took to Twitter to comment on the incident, with one saying: “Feeling very glad I have metal bars in front of my door.”
Police enquiries are ongoing.
