Keith Fraser is to stand as Parliamentary candidate for UKIP for Hackney North and Stoke Newington

Keith Fraser has been selected as UKIP’s Hackney North and Stoke Newington candidate for the upcoming general election on Thursday 7 May.

He will challenge the incumbent, Labour MP Diane Abbott, who has held the seat since 1987.

Born and raised in London, Fraser says: “I consider myself the man of mischief but the voice of reason.”

Fraser, who runs KFMG, a firm of general practice chartered surveyors covering Greater London, told the Hackney Citizen of his commitment to protecting the interests of Hackney North’s Jewish community, and the value of controlled immigration.

“A considerable percentage of Hackney north are Jewish. I am. No one is going to protect the interests of the Jewish community better than me.”

Fraser added that he believes UKIP’s views on immigration are misunderstood:

“UKIP believes in immigration. What we don’t believe in is uncontrolled immigration. There’s a huge different. Immigration is one of the success stories of this country. one of the failures is the open door policy of immigration for anyone from the EU to come in whether they have a good health, skills, record. we have to be in control of our own destiny”.

“UKIP policies stand up for the average working person. We’re not a party that promises one thing and does another.”

Speaking to the Citizen, Fraser also asserts that he is pro-gentrification in Hackney.

“Hackney is on the up, it’s becoming trendy, gentrified. Evolution is necessary. If you don’t grow, you die, and Hackney is growing. What’s wrong with that? We just have to make sure the have nots are looked after as much as the haves.”

“My intention is to stand for the people, be there for the people, and be answerable to the people. What we say, we mean.”
