Haggerston flats evacuated after gas leak

250 residents were evacuated from a block of flats on Weymouth Terrace in Haggerston this morning following a gas leak.
They are waiting in a local community centre while gas engineers investigate the source of the leak.
A 25 metre safety cordon has been put in place.

The Fire Brigade was called at 2.13am. Four fire engines, two fire rescue unit and around 30 firefighters and officers from Shoreditch, Homerton, Whitechapel and Stoke Newington attended the incident.
