Photographer jailed for sexually assaulting models in Hackney studio
A freelance photographer who sexually assaulted his models in his Hackney Wick studio has been jailed.
Police are now appealing for any further victims of Shaun Colclough, 40, of Amhurst Road, to come forward after he was sentenced to seven years at Snaresbrook Crown Court this week.
His victims included models and aspiring models who required professional photographs for their portfolios.
In March 2011 Colclough met a 27 year old woman at his studio on Wallis Road. He persuaded her to undress during the photo shoot and touched her intimately despite her attempts to escape him.
Later that same month he also assaulted a 25 year old woman in a similar attack.
The first victim reported the assault to the police and after an investigation by Tower Hamlets Colclough was arrested.
Following a search of his home and his studio, computer equipment was seized, which led officers to identify the second victim.
Colclough was handed two sentences of four and three years, his sentences will run consecutively.
Detective Constable Richard Brierley of Tower Hamlets CID said: “It is possible that other women have suffered similar assaults, and I would urge any other victims to contact police.
“They will be given the full support of specially trained officers and their allegations will be thoroughly investigated.”
Colclough was found not guilty of two further counts of sexual assault against two other women.
