Woman and baby found dead identified as Valerie Forde and Real-Jahzarah McKoy

Detectives investigating the deaths of a woman and a baby girl have formally confirmed their identities.

They have been identified as Valerie Forde, 45, and 23-month-old Real-Jahzarah McKoy.

The woman and baby were found dead at an address in Oswald’s Mead, Homerton, on the morning of 31 March by police and ambulance workers who also found a 53-year-old man suffering from injuries.

The post-mortem examination of Valerie Forde gave cause of death as multiple injuries. Real-Jahzarah’s post mortem gave cause of death as incised wounds to the neck.

The 53-year-old man was taken to an East London hospital where he remains in a stable condition. He has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
