Hackney shooting victim named as teenager Shereka Marsh
Detectives investigating a fatal shooting in Hackney have confirmed the identity of the victim.
She was formally identified as 15 year-old Shereka Fab-Ann Marsh.
A post-mortem took place at Poplar Mortuary today and gave cause of death as a gunshot wound to the neck.
Police were called shortly before 4pm yesterday following the shooting of a girl inside a house in Eastway, E9. Police said the house was not the victim’s home.
Police, the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance were all called, however the 15 year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives from the Homicide & Major Crime Command are investigating.
A firearm was recovered from the house in Eastway.
Two 16 year-old boys and a 15 year-old boy were arrested near the scene on suspicion of murder.
They were taken to an east London police station, where they remain in custody.
One line of inquiry that police are following is the possibility that the shooting may have been an accident.
However the police have yet to establish the full circumstances of the shooting and have opened an incident room in Barking.
