Growing Communities’ Hackney salad bags accolade

Organic salad grown on sites in the heart of Hackney has been named as the best fruit and veg product of the year at the prestigious Soil Association Organic Food Awards – beating competition from organic producers across the UK.

Hackney Salad, grown by social enterprise Growing Communities on its urban market gardens and Patchwork Farm in Hackney, picked up the award at a ceremony last month.

Restaurants, such as Sodo Pizza in Clapton serve the salad.
