Not suffering from festival fatigue just yet? Then cast a glance this way.

On Saturday 10 August, Hackney and neighbouring Tower Hamlets will play host to VISIONS, a new alternative music festival masterminded by three London-based promoters, SEXBEAT, Bird on the Wire and Rockfeedback.

VISIONS takes over from SEXBEAT’s popular annual Radfest festival, which was held in Hackney Downs Studios and Peckham’s Bussey Building in recent years featuring headliners such as the Wedding Present and Veronica Falls.

As with its predecessor, VISIONS aims to present an eclectic range of music in an urban setting. The one-day, indoor event will take place in a trio of non-standard venues in the vicinity of London Fields, Netil House, the London Fields Brewhouse and Oval Space.

VISIONS’s first outing boasts a 21-strong line up of acts, with !!!, Jeffrey Lewis and Fucked Up headlining a bill that spans a dizzying range of genres, from dance-punk to folk to hardcore.

Other acts include lo-fi rock-pop from Cloud Nothings, soundscapes from London-based producer the Haxan Cloak and Scandi punk rock from Iceage.

To accompany the music, the organisers have commissioned a range of additional entertainment, including an art exhibition, a DIY record exchange and street food laid on by Netil Market.

Tickets cost £25, which grants access to all three venues on the day; visionsfestival.com.
