Edible furniture to celebrate reopening of Sutton House cafe
Red roses and a dolls house table and chairs were sliced up and eagerly consumed by schoolgirl Willa Russell and her family.
Luckily the furniture and flowers were made of marzipan after Willa, seven, won a contest to design a cake to celebrate the reopening of the café at Sutton House, the National Trust-owned Tudor-era home in Homerton.
Willa said: “I like coming to Sutton House with my mum and designed the cake sitting at the table and chairs in the café. I love drawing, especially flowers.”
The sweet treat was divided up between Willa, her family, and Sutton House staff, who said it was delicious.
