Nanny Network – juggling childcare and career need not be so tricky
Nanny Network – the agency born in Hackney, connects parents with local childcare and offers a wide range of services including babysitting and nannying.
Nanny Network also provides an ‘emergency childcare service’ which parents can use to book even at the very last minute.
Nanny Network takes a modern approach to childcare – the ongoing gentrification of East London has meant many new parents in the area do not work conventional 9 to 5 hours and so childcare needs to reflect the needs of the changing workforce.
Many freelancers need to use the service so Nanny Network strives to provide parents with childcare that is accessible, affordable, local, fully flexible and available online.
The first childcare agency in the area, Nanny Network was started in 2011 by Lucia Borraccino, while she was working herself as a nanny.
The ’emergency childcare service’ offered by Nanny Network means that all important work meeting need not be missed if other childcare arrangements fall through.
Lucia is adamant that childcare should not be a barrier to women wanting to further their careers and on International Women’s Day (8 March) the message couldn’t be stronger.
Nanny Network is working towards enabling all parents to book and pay for their childcare online and its new babysitting service means parents can even book from their smartphone or tablet.
Lucia, who is originally from Hackney, has stayed true to her roots: “Nanny Network started in East London, and this is still my home. We are expanding to connect parents with childcare across London whilst offering discounts for Hackney parents.”
