Police arrest four in Clapton pub raid
Four people were arrested by police who executed a search warrant at the Windsor Castle Public House on Lower Clapton Road on the night of Saturday 8 December.
The arrests were for a range of offences including possession with intent to supply drugs, possession of an offensive weapon and permitting the use of cannabis on the premises.
Scatterings of cannabis were found discarded at various locations within the pub and five people were issued with formal cautions for possession of the drug.
PS Louise Gill, from the Leabridge Safer Neighborhoods’ team (SNT), said: “This warrant was executed following complaints from local residents about drug dealing and anti-social behaviour at the venue.”
Officers from Hackney’s Leabridge and Kings Park SNTs, in partnership with the Met’s Territorial Support Group (TSG), conducted the search as part of Operation Condor – a capital-wide crackdown on crimes relating to licensing laws.
