Paper Dress to celebrate boutique birthday with charity bash
Hannah Turner Voake’s vintage boutique named after the 1960’s fad ‘the paper dress’ has quickly evolved into a thriving independent retailer which is now celebrating its fifth birthday.
Paper Dress Vintage opened in Shoreditch in 2007 selling clothing, shoes and accessories spanning styles from the 1900s to the 1980s. Over the years the store has diversified, continuing to sell quality vintage clothing but now incorporating a coffee shop and a fully licensed bar.
Live music events are on four nights a week as well as jive dancing classes on Tuesday evenings.
Yet Paper Dress’s core business still consists of providing lavishly-presented, hand-crafted and vintage clothes to the thriving fashion community in Shoreditch.
Its fifth birthday bash on 12 October will feature the auction of a commemorative Fifth Birthday Paper Dress garment as well as some exclusive paper clothing from the 1960s.
Proceeds will go to anti-poverty campaigners War on Want who are active in anti-sweatshop practices around the world. The night will also include some live music and glamour from Go-Go group, the Meyer Dancers. The evening begins with a complimentary drinks reception at 7.30pm.
