Hackney Wick Festival 2012
Hot on the heels of London 2012 comes the sixth annual Hackney Wick Festival – two days of arts, crafts and non-stop community fun with a new sporting twist for this year.
Rubbing shoulders with the 2012 Olympic Park and Hackney Marshes, Hackney Wick is a haven of quiet streets, picturesque canals and interesting individuals, who once a year transform their tranquil patch into a hive of activity.
This year’s festival takes place over two days – Saturday 15 September and Sunday the 16th.
Saturday will be devoted to urban sports events and games, whilst Sunday will be full of traditional festival fare on Wick Green.
For children there will all sorts of terrific activities such as the Albion Kids Show, face painting, drama, dance, and pottery.
For grown-ups there is live music from Oxjam, drama, belly dancing, great food, a local designer market and vintage goods.
So if you’re looking for the best way to see out the summer with a bang, head down to Hackney Wick for a weekend to remember.
Saturday 15 September: around the Wick and canal
Sunday 16 September: on Hackney Wick Green, Eastway E9 5LZ
