Hackney Jubilations – what’s on this weekend

Lovely Jub'lee: time for a party

Last year one million people partied for Will and Kate’s wedding and in 1977 ten million people celebrated the Queen’s Silver Jubilee: Royalist or not, we all love a street party. Hackney is diverse but also divided, so why not celebrate with your community and meet your neighbours, young and old, poor or rich for Queen’s Diamond Jubilee?

Here are some of the many free events this Bank Holiday weekend for everyone:

Saturday 2 June

The Queen’s Jubillegal – a floating, boating and dancing procession
12pm – late
From Union Wharf, Regents Canal N1 to Broadway Market E8.

To vie with the official flotilla and the Queen’s Royal Barge on the River Thames, Animal Control & TellTails bring a mass free flotilla for everyone. If you don’t have a float, you can dance along on the waysides to the market and onto a secret after party.
* Remember – safety first.
