Hackney Pearl announces short film competition
Hackney Wick has long been a haven for slightly off-beat ideas, and the Hackney Pearl’s recently-announced film competition is no exception.
The inaugural Hackney Pearl Short Film Competition is open to film-makers from across the capital and beyond, who will have nine days between 6 and 14 August to make a film no longer than three minutes.
Submitted films will then be screened at three heats over the course of August. At each screening the audience will vote on their favourite films. The finalists will go before a panel of judges who will choose three winners at a grand finale event, to be held on 17 September.
For neophytes, film-making workshops will also be on offer.
Full schedule and registration details can be found on the Hackney Pearl Film Competition website.
