A 92-year-old woman’s hip was broken during a callous robbery at around 12.50pm on Tuesday 4 January.
She was on her way home from shopping and was followed into block 127 – 186 Trelawney Estate, E9, where her attacker got into a lift with her.
On reaching her front door, she was knocked to the floor and her bag was snatched from her arm.

DI Glenn Butler said: This was a cowardly attack on a vulnerable woman. She has been put through a frightening ordeal that has left her critically ill in hospital. It is essential we catch this man and I would urge anyone who might have information or who witnessed the incident to contact us.”
Officers are very keen to trace the victim’s handbag. A black handbag, with two short handles which is made from plastic-like material.
