Prize panto cow steals the show

Buttercup from the Hackney production of Jack & The Beanstalk has made it into the top five list and is in the running to become the UK's Best Panto Cow 2010

The Hackney Empire’s break dancing panto cow Buttercup, from this year’s Jack & the Beanstalk production, has been named among the ‘cream of the pantomime crop’.

Buttercup has been shortlisted as one of the top five panto cows in the country following a national search from ice cream company Ben & Jerry’s to find the ultimate bovine thespian this Christmas.

“Udderly spectacular,” is how the company described the panto cow’s performance. Criteria for the competition included dance skills, improvisation, stage presence, style and ‘cow quirkiness’.

Votes to secure Buttercup’s place as top panto cow can be cast on the Ben & Jerry’s website.
