Virtuous Flock
This is your chance to see one of the runaway successes of year’s Edinburgh Fringe. This month N10 Productions, who have wowed critics with their exciting and energetic young cast, bring their latest play to the Arcola Theatre.
In Virtuous Flock, 18-year old playwright Billy Barrett has written a hilariously-filthy, shamefully-cruel musical comedy.
Inspired by the French Théâtre du Grand-Guignol and the Victorian weekly serial booklets the Penny Dreadfuls, Virtuous Flock takes audiences back to the era of flamboyant melodrama and lurid gothic horror.
The play tells the gruesome tale of the murder of three women at the hands of Penny Dreadful. Dark, dirty and disturbingly funny with live music and songs, this is the blackest comedy you will see this year. It breaks multiple taboos and makes you wonder how depravity could be so horrifically humorous.
N10 Productions was formed by Producer/Director Lauren Overs and is based in London’s N10 (Muswell Hill). The company is committed to developing a wide range of theatrical experiences from devised and physical theatre to dynamic original reinterpretations of classic texts. Combining innovative movement alongside original live music, N10 aspire to create high energy ensemble performances that excite and entertain.
Virtuous Flock is showing at the Arcola Theatre from 11-16 October.
