A Journey Through Ruins: the last days of London
Patrick Wright talks about his recently re-printed and updated book, A Journey Through Ruins: the last days of London, at 7pm on Thursday 25 February.
The book is regarded as a unique evocation of Britain at the height of the Thatcher era, looking at the changes from the perspective of everyday life in East London to create a picture of the age.
It focuses on council housing, privatisation and the changing memories of the Second World War.
