Hoxton man Sam Hallam

Sam Hallam is spending yet another Christmas in jail, sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Essayas Kassahun in 2005, which he denies.

His claim to innocence is supported by people who themselves have been victims of some of Britain’s most notorious miscarriages of justice – Paddy Hill and Billy Power of the Birmingham Six, Gerry Conlon of the Guildford Four and Patrick Maguire of the Maguire Seven.

His campaign for justice is also supported by actor Ray Winstone.

The Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC) was given a fresh dossier of evidence in February of last year and is still in the process of deciding whether or not to refer it to the Court of Appeal.
