A SPOOKY “penny dreadful for the 21st century” featuring tales of death on the London Overground, were-carp in the Fleet River and child-swallowing goblins from Middlesex has hit the bookshop shelves in time for Halloween.

One Eye Grey, an anthology of London-based horror stories available at bookshops across the capital, includes stories inspired by east London – and fiction by the Hackney Citizen’s very own reporter Josh Loeb.

An East End pub will host an event called ‘Spectres at the feast’ to promote the anthology two nights before All Hallow’s Eve. The event, which will involve spooky story-telling and songs, will take place from 7-10pm on Thursday 29 October at Dirty Dicks, 202 Bishopsgate, City of London, EC2M 4NR (nearest Tube: Liverpool Street).

One Eye Grey can be ordered from all good bookshops and is stocked at shops across London, including Foyles.
