A violent assault that saw two men attacked with wooden stakes and one man bitten has launched a police manhunt for the culprits.

The incident occurred around 2:30am on 29 October last year on East Road, Hackney, where police and the London Ambulance Service attended and took the victims to a North London hospital to be treated.

One 32-year-old suffered multiple fractures to his head and requires ongoing medical treatment, while a 36-year-old was left with minor injuries.

Police are urging anyone who might recognise the suspects from the CCTV footage to come forward and identify them.

The first suspect is described as a black man of medium build, in his early 20s. He was wearing a black baseball cap, chequered shirt and a blue jacket.

The second man is of a muscular build, 5ft 11inches tall, with short dark hair, in his late 20s. He was wearing a blue body warmer on top of a black top, brown trousers and brown trainers.
