9 November: Jonathan Kemp, winner of the Authors’ Club First Best Novel Award for last year’s London Triptych, will be at Broadway Bookshop reading from his new novel, 26. Crafted around 26 extraordinary erotic encounters, this work is a powerful meditation on the pursuit of pleasure.

10 November: Melissa Benn speaks at Pages of Hackney about her new book School Wars (see page 7 for interview and book review).

15 November: Broadway Bookshop hosts a visual and talk performance of The Hardy Tree by the author Iphignia Baal. It is 1864, St Pancras is a sprawling cemetery-slum. Ten thousand bodies must be disinterred. Charged with the exhumation are The Resurrection Men, and at their head is  the young Thomas Hardy.

26 November: The Book Box will hold a children and parent book reading and signing with Karin Littlewood. The author and illustrator will be reading from her book Immi, recently published in paperback.

29 November: Poetry comes to Broadway Bookshop with Mark Ford and Jack Underwood, two of London’s leading poets. Mark Ford’s third collection Six Children alludes to Walt Whitman’s claim “though unmarried, [he] had six children”, and draws on episodes from Ford’s own life .
