As tickets for the Olympics in London, 2012 are now on sale until 26 April, Hackney-born athlete Phillips Idowu says: “From competing at previous Olympic Games, I know there’s nothing else in the world like it. I often get asked, ‘what’s it like going to the Olympics?’ Now everybody has the chance to experience it for themselves.

“It will be a dream come true for me to win the gold medal in London, in front of my home crowd, representing Great Britain.
