A homeless charity is facing an uncertain future after failing to find enough money to continue at its base in Crossway, Dalston.

Rhythms of Life Internationalfeatured in last month’s Citizen – serves up food to rough sleepers every evening outside its HQ.

But the 40 or more homeless people who are fed meals may go hungry if the charity cannot find a new base.

Rhythms of Life founder Andrew Faris urged anyone who can help with money or premises to contact the charity.

He said: “We are in desperate need of finding somewhere in Dalston or the surrounding areas before the winter kicks in.”

Mr Faris added that the charity had looked at cut-price premises near Kingsland Road’s Geffrye Museum but had met opposition from nearby residents.

The charity could serve food from a van “as a last resort”, he said – but he was hoping to find a larger base so it could help homeless people beyond merely giving them food.

To donate money – or if you have premises that would be appropriate for the charity, which is prepared to pay rent and upkeep – call (0207) 254 9534 or email info@rhythmsoflife.org.uk.
