I wholeheartedly agree. Diane likes to be seen as something she is not. I still haven't forgiven her for the "private school" debacle.
Her quote "I was brought up to believe, no matter what other's think, you do the best for your own" - well then Diane, you're not actually a socialist then are you?

Diane has, I’m afraid, been fooled by the Guardian into a) believing she has the qualities to become leader, and b) that she has the necessary support to take her to the second round; neither of which – and particularly the first – are correct.
I’m a committed member of the Labour Party and therefore will continue to support Ms Abbott – albeit grudgingly – for as long as she remains my MP. However, my (and her own) inability to reconcile the persona she has attempted to create and who she actually is mean that I could never support her nomination. I’m sure I’m not alone in this view, which is a shame because it would be great to have a leader that isn’t white, male, privately educated, and drawn from the middle classes (or at least three quarters of these things at any one time.
As an afterthought, I also think it was despicable that (in an attempt to dismantle his campaign) she claimed on this morning's 'Today Programme’ on Radio 4 that John McDonnell had conceded that he wouldn’t obtain the requisite nominations to stand for the leadership. Another example, if one were needed, of the contradiction between Diane’s socialist tendencies and those of an altogether different order.
